An exciting few months... 05/14/2009
![]() I first want to apologize for not having updated my site for the past month or so. I have been very busy with not only the end of the semester, but my photography as well! I received an award for my photographs in the student show at Troy and also had my Graduate Thesis Show! The Graduate Thesis Show May 3, 2009 "The Graduate Thesis Show" opened at the Massry Gallery at The College of Saint Rose. I have been working towards this show for the past three years! I was overwhelmed with emotions the day of the opening! I was finally exhibiting a substantial amount of images from my body of work "The Rural North-East." I showed 27 images. I spent a lot of time deciding how I was going to display that many pieces in a group show. I wanted my viewers to not be overwhelmed, I wanted them to see how the work held together as a group, but also appreciate each building individually. I decided on three grids, nine images each. I was really proud of the overall presentation. I think that people were able to relate to my work, and appreciate the individual uniqueness that each building possesses. Watching and listening to people look at, and discuss my work was amazing. Knowing that my images could start up a conversation between two strangers was such a strong dose of encouragement. Now that the show has settled down, and I have picked up my work, I cannot wait to get on the road again and shoot! Hopefully, I will have new images to share soon! The images below were taken at the show. You will notice photographs that are not currently posted in my series section of the website. I will be uploading them within the next few days! |
